Our story

A grandmother's kitchen, reimagined for every table.

Beeja Foods started with one woman's recipes — and two very different cravings for real food. Today, it's a pantry of clean, freeze-dried flavor for families and adventurers alike.

"Every chutney, every curry, every grandkid's plate — I wanted them all to taste like home."
Where it started

Grown in Southern California kitchens, generations deep.

Beeja Foods begins with Renu Sidana — a lifetime of recipes never written down, because they didn't need to be. Green chutney. Coconut chutney. A curry masala blended by hand. When Renu settled in Southern California, those recipes came with her.

As a grandmother of two, she watched her daughter fight the nightly vegetable battle that so many parents — and grandparents — know well. Talking it through with other grandmothers and moms in her circle, Renu realized it wasn't just her daughter's struggle. So she asked a different question: what if kids could get their vegetables without ever knowing it? That question became Garden Pals, Beeja's first product.

"Pantry-safe, lightweight, ready with just water — for a toddler's plate or a week in the backcountry."
Why freeze-dried

Real ingredients, nothing lost.

Fresh vegetables spoil. Jarred sauces lean on preservatives. Frozen needs a freezer you don't always have. Freeze-drying solved it all at once: pantry-safe, lightweight, a 12-month shelf life, and nothing but water needed to bring it back to life — locking in 97% of the original nutrients, flavor, and color. It's the same preservation method space agencies rely on to keep astronaut meals safe and nutrient-dense, millions of miles from a kitchen.

That same cube that hides vegetables from a toddler also fits in a backpack for a week in the backcountry. We know, because we've lived it ourselves — craving bold, real flavor on camping trips and travels to remote places where none could be found. One technology, solving two very different cravings for real food.

"Every Saturday, we set up a small table — and found out we weren't the only ones who'd been waiting for this."
Yorba Linda Farmer's Market

One Saturday stand, June 2025.

Beeja Foods introduced itself the way it still shows up today — in person, one Saturday morning at the Yorba Linda Farmer's Market, with samples in hand. Just Renu, a folding table, and families willing to try something new.

Week after week, the same families came back — telling us which flavors their kids actually finished, which chutney tasted like their own mother's kitchen, and which cube disappeared from their pantry first. That feedback shaped the lineup as much as any recipe did.

Still Saturdays. Still listening.

We'd love to hear from you.

Some of our best recipe tweaks came from a conversation over a sample cup on a Saturday morning. Whether you've met us at the market, tried a cube from a friend's pantry, or just placed your first online order — we'd genuinely love to know what you think.

Every review helps another family find real, clean-ingredient meals.

What we stand for

The Beeja promise

That one cube grew into a full pantry — for families at home and adventurers on the go. The mission never changed: real ingredients, preserved at their peak, with zero compromise on flavor.

Real ingredients

No preservatives, no fillers, no shortcuts. Just whole foods at their peak, gently freeze-dried.

Family recipes

Every cube is rooted in a real recipe — the kind passed down at kitchen tables across generations.

Less waste

Freeze-dried means a 12-month shelf life. No more wilted herbs or sprouted garlic at the back of your fridge.
